Winter came late this year. Some days were too hot for December, some days pretty cold, and some days so pleasant it felt like spring. Global Warming, people. It’s real. *big scary eyes*
So now that winter is officially here- super cold days, coats, peppermint bark, coffee, thermostats et al- look what it brought for me. A cold. A cough. A sore throat that makes me want to scratch the insides of it out. *ugh*
I don’t fall sick very often, a little runny nose here and there, yes, but I don’t get a full-fledged cold weather trio often. The last time this happened was almost two years ago. When you’re still a kid, not much of an adult, with no major responsibilities, falling sick means you can stay in bed all day and chill with a book, or a TV show. But I’m a mother of two and staying in bed is a luxury mothers cannot afford; and on the off chance that both my kids decide to take it easy so mama can get her rest, who is going to waste time in bed when there is so much more to do?! #momlife
So my house has been in a mess this whole week with clothes strewn about everywhere, Amazon and Google Express boxes that need to be emptied, and just random little things that need to be put back in their places. And, I need to pack for a short relaxing kind of trip we’re taking over Christmas weekend.
So, while I take care of all that needs to be done, all the while coughing like a haggardly old woman and sipping on my ginger honey green tea, I’m sharing with you guys an old TED Talk where Carmen Agra Deedy spins a funny and engaging story about her mother. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
Happy Holidays!
Hats off to your stamina. I can’t imagine not being able to call in sick. Still a kid right now so no responsibilities yet. Get well soon
Thank you! 🙂 Enjoy this stage! Motherhood is great and lots of fun but yes, there is no break!
May Allah bless you ❤️
